Reaching for the Stars Gillis Rowland Hair wins Retail Salon of the Year 2006 at the prestigious Clynol Awards.

Just a few weeks ago, Gillis Rowland Hair was shortlisted in three categories in the annual Clynol Hairdressing Awards and, as a result, February was a tense month for staff. On Sunday 25th February though, the wait was over, and at Clynol’s glittering Weekend of Excellence, the winners were announced revealing Gillis Rowland Hair as the victor in the category of Retail Salon of the Year 2006.

Proprietor David Rowland is absolutely thrilled with the outcome: “It’s brilliant news and we are all very excited. Ours was the first award to be announced so the wait wasn’t too long – the rest of the evening was spent celebrating! I think it was the combination of our team-building exercises with the staff incentives that did it for us. That, and the excellent portfolio which was put together by my wife Felicia!”

Felicia adds: “I was so delighted especially after all the effort I put into the portfolio and the evening was such fun. We will definitely be entering again next year.”

To enter the category of Retail Salon of the Year 2006, Gillis Rowland Hair had to submit a portfolio of information including financial reports, forecasts, staff incentives, past promotional successes and photographs of retail areas. The prize, annually presented to the salon that is, above all others, truly customer focussed, creating impactful and attractive retail display areas, interesting promotions and staff incentives, is a trophy for proud display in the salon and two tickets to an exciting business forum at London’s Ivy restaurant, where fellow diners and leading experts in hairdressing will share their ideas and thoughts on best business practices and salon successes.
